Santigao Sac. school visit

I still can't get over our time with the scholarship students and the impact that the scholarships (becos/becas) have on their lives and on their community. When the representative from the Mayor's office was speaking, you could see the emotion written all over his face because he knew how much the scholarship students were helping to keep the community together and make it stronger for the future. The experience was such a stark contrast with how students in the US view their opportunities, education and their communities! I think fellow tour member, Melissa, said it best when she said the experience of visiting the schools in Guatemala caused her to really think about and make the most of her time in school!
